Jay VanderVeen - First day in High School. 8th grade Science, in walks "this" teacher. He looks at everyone in the class and, to our amazement, says in a loud voice, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!". If this was the first day, what would the rest of the year in this class be like? (It actually didn't turn out to be too bad!). He started teaching at Lee in 1937 and retired in 1974.
